Course Details: Kasturi Institute of Management is one of the foremost institutes delivering undergraduate courses in Hotel Management and Catering technology. There are four major departments in hotel management namely Food Production, Food & Beverages, Front office, and Accommodation Operations. A student who studies in this institute can qualify himself professionally in all these major subjects and choose one as his career in the hotel industry. The objective of this course is to make students concentrate on all-around development in the significance of acquiring multiple–skills that are the current needs of the hospitality industry.

Food Production – This department is separated into four major food preparation training facilities

Basic Training Kitchen – Here the students are trained to the fundamental principles of cookery and are set to cook food for 2 portions. The students of the first year degree are trained in this kitchen, the cuisine taught would be French.

Quantity Training Kitchen – The students from the second year are trained in this kitchen. It is here that the students are training to prepare food in bulk portions. The cuisine is commonly Indian, training is based on additional global cuisines as well.

Advance Training Kitchen – The final-year students are used to working in this kitchen. The advanced level of cookery is learned and practiced here. Cuisines like Chinese, Mexican, Thai, and Mediterranean are prepared and skills like Vegetable carving, Ice carving, Tallow carving, etc are taught to the students.

Bakery – The students in this kitchen practiced making distinct varieties of dough bread and cakes in their practical hours.

Food & Beverages Service – There are two restaurants, which are air-conditioned and can guide nearly 100 students at any offered time. The students are tutored in the fundamentals of different restaurant services in the first year and the second year. They are also about alcoholic beverages and their ethical assistance. In the final year, they are instructed on how to handle the restaurant operations.

Front Office – In this department students are trained to organize, perform, and assess the front office functions that are critical to the success of a hotel and trained to handle the different processes of front office operations and management.

Accommodation Operations – The Institute has a Guest house having 6 single rooms and 4 double rooms equivalent to the standard of five-star deluxe hotels for the students to train in the art of bed assembling and space cleaning. This department also has practical laundry services and flower arrangements.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have completed their higher secondary school certificate or 10 +2 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50%

Job Position: Management Trainee in Hotel, Hotel Operation Trainee, Assistant Manager, Catering Officer, Hotel Administration, work in flight kitchens, In-flight Services like Cabin Crew and Guest or Customer relations executive in Hotel, self-employment, and other related industries.
